Fat Printed Creatures

After years of drawing cartoons I kept being told that I would love printmaking because my graphic style lends well to the medium. Last semester I finally took a printmaking class and I must say, I loved it! Here are four prints from what I call my fat mythological creature series. First is a woodblock print, next is a linoleum print, and the last two are screen prints. Fun times were had by all. 

MSUM Illustrations

MSUM has currently commissioned me to create some illustrations for their marketing department. I just want to go ahead and show off my mad skillz in making more adorable drawings.

Summer Mid-day Nappies

Hey. Hey! HEY! Stop sleeping away your summer. Before you know it, snowflakes will be filling the ground again. But seriously, summers in the Midwest don't last very long, so we need to enjoy them as much as possible.

Bodypump

I love working out, but I do not do it nearly as much as I should anymore. These cartoons represent first, how I feel when I'm in the zone and second, how I feel trying to get back into it after a long break of not lifting even a baby kitten. Some days I can't even curl a marshmallow, but with some practice and I am able to punch a demon horse in the face with just my little pinky. 

For My Dad

This shows a typical scene that one would probably see in our backyard during the summer. I tried out two different styles. Like whichever one you want, but I gotta admit, I love the goofy one. It reminds me more of my goofy dad.

Sick Children

When you are a busy parent and your kid gets sick, what do you do? It's hard to juggle work and feverish children at the same time. This illustration might capture the feelings you may experience as a mom or dad with a busy life. Look at those runny eyes and red nose, awe, you must stay home from work for that lil' guy.

Girl Scout Mommy

Are you sad that girl scout cookie season is over? I hope you stocked up on a ton of boxes. I know those girl scout mom's can be quite pushy. Admit it, you probably bought a whole garage full. That'll probably last you about a week.

Lantern Babies

Getting back into a groove of making digital art for an illustration class. This assignment was to make a composition from boxes. I chose to show where babies come from before they are born. It is inspired by the actual lantern I own that contains a couple baby dolls. It's not creepy, I promise, well, maybe a little.

The Crash

A group of people I know wrote up an idea for a cartoon show called Diner-Sore. They had me do some character design and visual development. This is one of the illustrations based on the information they wanted with five of the characters I designed. I'd probably watch this if it is ever fully complete.

The Ugliest Piglet

This little piggy went to the market... and got kicked out for being ugly.

Princess Bride character designs

These are character designs I did when I took a semester in Laguna. They are characters from the movie "The Princess Bride." Can you guess who each one is?

My goal was to emulate the style of Peter De Seve in a circus theme. Pretty good for my first digital paintings if I do say so myself.
